Police Shoot Knifeman Dead In Brussels

Police in Brussels have shot dead a knife-wielding mugger. The incident happened in the Marollen area of Central Brussels on Saturday evening. The mugger had tried to steal a smartphone and handbag from a woman, near to the Kappellekerk. The woman at first and was injured on her hand by the assailant’s knife


French Soldier Stabbed Near Paris

French anti-terrorism police are investigating the stabbing of soldier believed to be a copycat attack of the fatal stabbing in London this week. The soldier was on patrol in the area of La Defense when he was stabbed in the neck by an unknown man who escaped. He is in a stable condition in hospital


2 Men Charged With Endangering An Aircraft

Two men have been charged with endangering an aircraft after RAF Typhoon jets escorted a passenger plane over the UK.Tayyab Subhani, 30, and Mohammed Safdar, 41, both of Nelson, Lancashire, were detained at Stansted Airport on Friday. Police boarded the Pakistan International Airlines flight, originally en-route to Manchester, after it was diverted to Stansted. The defendants are due in Court on Monday


Bayern Crowned Champions Of Europe

Arjen Robbens late winner earned Bayern Munich a 2-1 win in last nights Champions League Final. Robben put aside memories of his penalty miss in last years final to score the winner in the 89th minute in their victore over German rivals Borussia Dortmund. Bayern are on course for the treble having already won the Bundesliga this season and with the place in next weekend German Cup Final already secured.
