Belgiums national air carrier, Brussels Airlines, have launched a new competition to find a 5th “Belgian Icon” to decorate one of its fleet.
The airline is asking for ideas which display “Belgitude and pride” as it looks to add another uniquely designed aircraft to the skies following the success of the previous 4 designs – Rackham, Magritte, Trident and Amare. The competition is open to all, with sketches, pictures or computer generated designs to be submitted before 23:59 on 31 August 2017.
In the press release to launch the competition, Brussels airlines said “There’s more to us Belgians than just culinary specialties (beer, waffles and chocolates) or our cultural heritage (fashion, surrealism and Flemish painters). We Belgians are authentic, down-to-earth and multilingual. We’ll go the extra smile and give you a genuine, warm welcome!”
The competition will be judged by a panel of 5 notable Belgians, including music producer Netsky and Paul Dujardin, the CEO of BOZAR, with the panel picking 2 designs to go up for the public vote in September.
