Bomb Alert On Casablanca Flight Was False Alarm

A plane scheduled to leave Brussels Airport had to be evacuated after a false bomb threat was received. The Flight to Casablanca in Morocco was at first delayed before passengers were asked to leave the aircraft so that police could search the plane.

Federal Police and the Brussels Airport Company confirmed that the Royal Air Maroc flight should have taken off shortly before 6pm on Tuesday evening but police received information that a bomb was onboard just before take off. Police immediately went to the scene, transporting passengers back to the departure lounge before making a full inspection of the aircraft. No suspicious items were found and passengers we allowed to reboard with the flight eventually taking off just before 9pm.

Police have now opened an investigation to find the perpitrator behind the bomb threat.
