Weapons discovered during raid in Anderlecht

Belgian Federal Police have discovered a stash of weapons during a raid on properties in Anderlecht. The Special Unit Team searched four house and two private garages during the raid and discovered several types of firearms including Kalashnikov rifles.
 
Four people have been taken into custody for questioning including two brothers who are said to have links to Brussels motorcycle gang The Kamikaze Riders. It was widely reported that the gang were thought to have been plotting a terrorist attack as far back as 2015.
 
Police continue to search propeerties across Belgium after Mohammed Abrini, one of the 3 terrorist caught on CCTV during the attack on Brussels airport in 2016, had told police that weapons had been hidden for later use. It is not known if the stash discovered by police in Anderlecht has any connection to the terror attacks on May 22nd last year.
