Two men arrested over suspected EURO fanzone terror attack

Two men, believed to be involved in plotting a terrorist attack on Euro 2016 fanzones in Belgium, have been arrested.

“One man was arrested in (the eastern town of) Verviers and another man in Tournai,” near the French border, reported a spokesman for the federal prosecutor.

The arrests come 10 days after Belgian authorities were warned of an “imminent” terrorist attack by incoming Islamic State fighters heading to Europe from Syria.
